In June 2008, EITCO was funded by Beijing Hydraulic Research Institute and Beijing CITS Group Inc. to conduct a river treatment project called "Algae Control in Beijing's Chao Bai River".

This project aimed to cure an isolated section of the Chao Bai River, which was the water supply source to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Water Park in Shunyi, Beijing.

A proof of concept experiment was successfully done in a constructed experimental pond in May 2008 by using EITCO's bio-stimulation product. The higher aerobic microorganisms in the water were stimulated to control the growth of the algae.

The success of the experimental pond encouraged the local authorities to take further action. In July 2008, right before the opening of the Beijing Olympic Game, EITCO successfully treated the water supply source to the Olympic Water Park in Shunyi, Beijing.

"The experiment clearly shows that the enzyme technology can remarkably restrain the growth of algae" – excerpt from unpublished report by Beijing Hydraulic Research Institute, June 2008.
